Professor Sidharta Utama

Professor Sidharta Utama is a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Indonesia; and currently serves as a secretary of the Board of Trustees at the University. He currently serves as a member of the International Accounting Education Standards Board; the Council of ASEAN Federations of Accountants; the Board of Trustees of the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship; the Management Board of the Indonesian Institute of Chartered Accountants; the Accountancy Monitoring Committee of the  Indonesian Ministry of Finance; Committee on Financial Accounting Policy Development of the Bank of Indonesia (Central Bank), and the Management Board of Transparency International Indonesia. He is also an independent commissioner and a member of audit committee in several publicly listed companies in Indonesia.

Professor Utama has held the positions of Chairman of the Management Board of Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship; Member of the National Economic Committee of the Government of Indonesia, Member of the Tax Oversight Committee Ministry of Finance and a Member of the Indonesian Financial Accounting Standard Board.

In the past twenty years, he has authored and co-authored papers in more than 40 research journal articles, including in Journal of Accounting and Economics and International Journal of Accounting.

He obtained his undergraduate degree majoring in accounting from University of Indonesia, MBA degree majoring in finance and information system from Indiana University, and PhD degree majoring in accounting from Texas A&M university. He is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst.

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants is honoured to induct Professor Sidharta Utama to the Global Accounting Hall of Fame® for his services to the profession in Indonesia.
