Aims and Scope

Management Accounting Frontiers (formerly Journal of Applied Management Accounting Research) is the research journal of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Australia. The primary aim of the journal is to advance research and practice of management accounting by providing a forum for disseminating knowledge and insight of the discipline. In addition, the journal aims to facilitate the developments of management accounting education by encouraging communication between researchers and practitioners.

The journal welcomes both theoretical and empirical manuscripts on management accounting, broadly defined. In addition, the journal publishes high quality literature review and normative articles that offer novel and fresh perspectives to issues important to management accounting research and practice. Manuscripts should be rigorous yet preferably intelligible to a wide audience of academics and, where appropriate, practitioners and graduate students.

All articles are subjected to a double-blind review process.

Submission and Review Process

Submission implies that the content of the manuscript has not been published elsewhere or currently under consideration by another journal or publisher for publication. All submissions are subjected to a double-blind review process. Potential contributors should submit manuscripts by email to Editor-in-Chief at:[email protected] for consideration for publication in MAF. The Editor-in-Chief will initially review the manuscript, and if suitable, send for review by at least two persons. This will include one reviewer using a double-blind review process, and either a second blinded reviewer or an Editor. Final acceptance or rejection of a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

Potential contributors will submit papers ONLY by email to [email protected] for review. The editor will initially review the paper, and if suitable, send it to referees via the web. The referees’ comments will be received via the web as will any revisions of papers. The journal is published every 6-months, both in electronic and printed form.

MAF is listed in the ProQuest and Cabells Directories.
