Registered Training Mentor

Senior Members can mentor more junior members to obtain their relevant experience in management accounting and business analysis by becoming an ICMA Registered Training Mentor. This program was launched to promote and develop the science of Management Accountancy in leading-edge organisations in Australia and internationally, by providing both individuals and business organisations with a portfolio of development opportunities designed to enhance their relevance as digital information age managers and business entities.
The objectives of the Institute in developing this mentoring program is to tailor its education and training programs based on the informational needs specified by the management of such business entities.

ICMA Registered Training Mentor Organisational Certification.

This is a corporate strategic information quality certification, awarded to business entities whose managers and accountants are sponsored to undertake the CMA program (either in online mode or intensively over 7 -days) and have a senior accountant mentoring them. Organisations which sponsor their accounting staff to participate in the CMA program (especially the organisation specific Business Research Project) and then mentor them are awarded this corporate certification upon the completion of the program, irrespective of the fact that the sponsored employee takes the exams or not.

The benefits of an organisation becoming an ICMA Registered Training Mentor are as follows:

• The organisation becomes accredited by The Institute of Certified Management Accountants as being an entity providing a suitable training environment for their managers to fulfil the experience requirements for ‘Associate’ (3 years) and ‘Certified’ (5 years) membership status.
• The organisation may wish to use the ICMA REGISTERED TRAINING MENTOR logo in an appropriate manner to indicate its commitment to the provision of strategic decision making and reporting information to its various stakeholders.
• The organisation may also wish to be the representative for its particular industry in the Global CFO Think Tank.
